TCSW10K Bengaluru 2022: INR 1.50cr funds raised for charity
TCSW10K Bengaluru 2022: Bengaluru has raised over INR 1.50cr within 5 weeks.
TCSW10K, Bengaluru, India, 10th May 2022: The Tata Consultancy Services World 10K (TCS World10K) is back after 3 years and yet again the Bengalureans have shown their ‘heart of gold’ by raising funds for causes that are dear to them. The philanthropy pillar for the TCS World 10K is driven by India Cares Foundation. The social sector welcomes this platform as it provides an opportunity to get back on track with programme fundraising and involve all stakeholders of Society.
Over the years there has been phenomenal growth and the event now stands unsurpassed and unchallenged as the single largest charity raising platform in South India. The 2022 edition of the event has to date raised INR 1.50 crore benefitting 55 Civil Society Organisations (CSOs/ NGOs).
IMPACT 2019
Just before the pandemic struck, the funds raised in 2019 were utilized to provide stay for over 100 children, 6,128 children’s educational requirements, 70 Girl children CBSE studies, 256 teachers’ salary, therapy for over 2,500 special children’s education and medical needs, medical camps for over 500 women, 100 early detection screening for children, etc., 82 women empowered through vocational training; over 1000 individuals provided medical treatment for various health issues;500+ trees planted, and much more.
PHILANTHROPY IN 2022
This year has been all about regrouping and ensuring regular programs stay on course While the event will have regulars participating and fundraising, many new CSOs/ NGOs are participating for the first time, reaching out to civil society and raising funds for the children, women, LGBT community, differently-abled, among others
Dr. Rupande Padaki, Chairperson of India Cares, announced,
“Over the years, the Civil Society Organisations – CSOs/ NGOs that have taken this platform seriously have raised significant sums of funds for their work, building their visibility in Society, and increasing their donor base. This year we have more runner groups and serious runners fundraising for a cause that they care about, this augurs well for the social sector and there’s nothing more motivating than a runner’s passion and training being utilised for a cause. A sporting event that is so rounded is an exception. We are honoured to be a part of this.”
In their first year as the event’s Associate Sponsor. IDFC FIRST Bank has launched an interesting initiative.
IDFC FIRST Bank has announced a pledge to contribute to social causes supported by the bank, on behalf of participants completing the 10K run in one hour. The initiative aligns with its philosophy of being a force for social good and with the TCS 10K Bengaluru’s theme of social inclusion. IDFC FIRST Bank will contribute Rs. 1000 to non-profits on behalf of every participant who completes 10K within 1 hour and Rs. 2000 if the participant is an IDFC FIRST Bank customer. The pledge enables qualifying participants to choose from a wide array of social causes and non-profits supported by IDFC FIRST Bank.
IDFC FIRST Bank’s pledge will be fulfilled under its FIRST Impact social responsibility programme.
