Sunil Narine is on board with Surrey’s Vitality Blast campaign
In the upcoming Indian Premier League, Sunil Narine will play for Kolkata Knight Riders until the end of the season, after which he will join the club.
Two overseas players are part of Surrey’s Vitality Blast squad. Over the course of a more than a decade-long international and franchise career, Narine has established a reputation as a highly accomplished spinner with a variety of variations.
A total of 429 wickets have been taken by the 33-year-old in 391 T20 matches for West Indies.
In the 2012 T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka, he picked up nine wickets, making an important contribution to the West Indies’ victory. He also represented his country in the 2014 T20 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy.
Narine has won the Indian Premier League twice with Kolkata Knight Riders and was named Player of the Tournament in 2012. He also played in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, as well as the Big Bash League and Pakistan Super League.
As a member of the Oval Invincibles before joining The Hundred, Narine is also familiar with The Kia Oval.
“I’m happy to have the opportunity to play for Surrey in the Vitality Blast this year; one of the few competitions around the world I’ve not experienced in my career,” Narine stated in a statement upon signing for the Club.
My time with the Oval Invincibles gave me a taste of playing before sold-out crowds at the Kia Oval in 2021. The club’s competition for the championship is my goal this year, so I will entertain as many people as possible.
