Sri Lanka announced their test team for series against India
In preparation for the two-match series against India, Sri Lanka named an 18-man Test squad on Friday. The first Test will take place in Mohali on March 5, and the second will be played in Bengaluru on March 12.
In addition, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has named substitutes for injured spinner Maheesh Theekshana and batter Kusal Mendis for the upcoming T20I series against India. According to the SLC, Niroshan Dickwella and Dhananjaya De Silva have been selected for the T20I team. According to SLC, Theekshna and Mendis experienced a hamstring injury during their recent trip to Australia, where they lost a five-match series 1-4.
The board of directors announced that Wanindu Hasaranga will return to Sri Lanka after being ruled out of the T20I series due to his long stay in Australia for COVID-19.
Dimuth Karunaratne will lead Sri Lanka in the Test series against India, while Dhanajaya de Silva will serve as vice-captain. Kusal Mendis has been added to the team, although his availability is contingent on his physical condition.
Sri Lanka lost the first T20I of the three-match series in Lucknow on Thursday. Ishan Kishan blasted a match-winning 89 as India scored 199 before escaping with a 62-run victory. On Saturday, February 26, the two teams will face off in the second Twenty20 International at Dharamsala.
