Sports Trumpet Exclusive interview with Mr Viswanathan Anand
India have gotten the hosting rights for the Chess Olympiad 2022
Indian Chess Grandmaster Viswanathan Anand will be a part of the team of FIDE president Arkady Drovkovich. His role for the Chess Olympiad is not yet decided.
In an interview with sports trumpet, Mr Viswanthan Anand has said that he will be a part of FIDE for the forthcoming tournament.
FIDE president Arkady Dvorkovich has offered the Indian Chess champ a role in the FIDE.
The Russian offered Viswanathan Anand a role in his team and it was accepted by the chess champ.
In the interview, Anand said that he is happy with the situation rn and also pleased the work that Dvorkovich has done so far.
He has not yet been assigned a role but, the discussions are ongoing. We would soon be informed about the role that Mr Anand would be playing.
He praised the work that Arkady Dvorkovich has done. He said that it is a wonderful team team who have done a lot for the sport and is excited to join the team as soon as possible.
Anand also spoke about the Chess prodigy Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa. Praggnanandhaa is doing really well. In the 2-3 events that he has played in this year, he played those who are ranked much higher than him.
A feat everyone is proud of. The youngster’s defense is what has caught the eye of the 5 time world chess champion. Praggnanandhaa is one of the core 7 who Anand is working with.
The AICF has announced that the Chess Olympiad 2022 will be held at Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu. Tentative dates being 28th July to 10th August.
