Southern Super Stars Defeat Gujarat Greats in LLC 2024

In an exciting Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 match at Barkatullah Khan Stadium, Jodhpur, Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and opted to bowl first for his team, Gujarat Greats, against Dinesh Karthik’s Southern Super Stars. Coming off a win against Toyam Hyderabad, Gujarat Greats aimed to continue their winning streak.

Despite early struggles, Chaturanga De Silva played a crucial knock for the Super Stars, smashing 53 runs off 28 balls. His heroic efforts lifted the Southern Super Stars to a competitive total of 144/9 after being reduced to 88/8 at one stage. Manan Sharma shone for Gujarat with the ball, taking six wickets for just 17 runs, tearing through the Super Stars’ lineup before De Silva’s rescue act.

In response, Gujarat Greats faltered despite a steady 52 off 48 balls from their captain, Shikhar Dhawan. They stumbled to 118/9 in 20 overs, unable to chase the target, as Pawan Negi turned the game with 3 key wickets. The victory propelled Southern Super Stars to the top of the LLC 2024 points table, while Gujarat Greats must rethink their strategy.
