Sachin Tendulkar reveals why he does not see his son Arjun Tendulkar play.
For parents, seeing their children succeed is probably their proudest moment. Arjun Tendulkar, the son of Indian cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar, is still working hard to get into the sport. Even though Arjun has several outstanding domestic performances to his record, his father has yet to witness him play.
Arjun, an all-rounder by trade, has played in several domestic cricket events and put in some standout performances. However, Sachin acknowledged in an honest interview that he never sees his kid play.
The Master Blaster disclosed the rationale for this unusual occurrence in a talk with Graham Bensinger. Sachin stated that he does not attend to see Arjun play because he wants his kid to be able to fall in love with the game without feeling pressured. However, there have been instances when Tendulkar has gone to see his kid play without anybody knowing.
As a parent, you may feel upset when you see your children play, and one of the reasons why I do not go see Arjun play is because I want to give him the freedom to fall in love with cricket- to stay focused on what he wants to accomplish… I don’t go to see him perform. He must maintain his concentration on the game. As though I didn’t want anyone to see me. Even if I attend his games, I’ll be hiding elsewhere. “He has no idea I’m there, and no one knows, not his coach, not anyone,” he added in a video uploaded on YouTube.
Arjun followed in his father’s footsteps and was signed by the Mumbai Indians, the team Sachin used to play for, for a sum of INR 20 lakh last year. He was purchased by the same franchise for the IPL 2022 auction, but for a greater sum of Rs. 30 lakhs. Arjun has joined Mumbai Indians for the second time, however, he has yet to play for the squad.
