S Sreesanth Called Up For Ranji After 9 Years

Veteran Kerala pacer S Sreesanth has been called in the team’s 24-member initial team for the forthcoming Ranji Trophy. The 38-year-old, if chosen to the final team, will be marking his return to red-ball cricket after a huge gap of nearly nine years. 

S Sreesanth last played a first-class game in 2013 when he featured in the Irani Cup. The Indian domestic cricket tournament Ranji Trophy will start on January 13. A total of 38 domestic teams of the country will be competing in this event. Sreesanth’s name has been added in the list of possible players of the Kerala Ranji team playing in the tournament. 

He has been selected in the team after 9 years. As you know, Sreesanth was banned for life from cricket after allegations of match-fixing in IPL. Later, the court removed his life ban and fixed a time, which has now been completed.

Sharing a video on social media, Sreesanth said- “Thank you to all my fans for supporting me. I am very much looking forward to joining the team. This is where I started my game, and now I have joined the Kerala team in Ranji Trophy (Kerala Ranji Team 2022).”
