Rohit Sharma: If we had taken those catches, the outcome would have been different

After India clinched an eight-run victory over West Indies in the second T20I in Kolkata on Friday, captain Rohit Sharma expressed disappointment with the team’s sloppy fielding. The win gave India a 2-0 unbeatable lead in the three-match series.
The game would have been different, according to Rohit, if the Indian fielders had taken those catches. The Indian skipper, on the other hand, hailed Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Venkatesh Iyer, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar for their contributions with the bat and the bowl in a thrilling triumph against the West Indies.

Chasing a difficult 187, wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran (62 off 41 balls) and Rovman Powell (68 not out off 36 balls) blasted ferocious fifties to keep them in the hunt with only 29 runs needed from the final two overs. Nicholas Pooran, who was dropped on 21 by Bishnoi in the 10th over, completed his fifty in 34 balls — his second in as many games — with a slog over off Deepak Chahar’s last over.
Under pressure after dropping Rovman Powell off his bowling, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was outstanding, conceding only four runs in the over. Patel was struck for two successive sixes as India needed to defend 25 in the last over, but he maintained his cool to secure the deal.
