Despite India’s disappointing performance in their third Test against New Zealand, where they suffered a significant defeat, Pant stood out as a key player. He scored 60 runs in the first innings and followed it up with 64 in the second, showcasing his talent even on a challenging pitch.
In light of Pant’s remarkable shot selection and batting prowess, Basit stated that while some reports estimate his auction value at Rs 25 crore, he believes it should be much higher. “When he batted on this pitch, it seemed like a flat track. He hit wherever he wanted to, but his shot selection was good,” Basit remarked during a discussion on his YouTube channel.
