RCB will bid for Ishan Kishan in IPL 2022: Harbhajan
Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will make a strong bid for rookie wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan in the forthcoming IPL 2022 super auction.
Kishan gives management more leeway when it comes to assembling a team around him. Kishan already has a strike rate of more than 130 in all phases and a good record against all bowling types except off-spin.
Before the IPL mega auction, the Mumbai Indians opted not to retain Ishan Kishan, instead choosing Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Kieron Pollard, and Suryakumar Yadav instead. Bengaluru will host the IPL mega auction on February 12 and 13. Kishan’s starting fee is Rs 2 crore, however, he is not among the marquee cast.
“I enjoy the work of Ishan Kishan. On his alone, he can score 70-80 runs off 30 balls and win the match for his team on any given day. He will become a major player in the future. If a player like him joins a team, he should be given leadership responsibilities. As he grows older and has more responsibilities, he will grow even larger. Jharkhand is already under his command. In the auction, RCB would undoubtedly target Ishan Kishan. It would be difficult since many teams will bid for him during the auction “Harbhajan stated in a video posted to his YouTube account.
Dinesh Karthik noted that Kishan’s ability to strike the ball from the first ball places him among a select group of players.
“He possesses exceptional abilities… He may attack from the first ball. That is a skill that not every player possesses. In the modern era, players strive to attack aggressively from the first ball. Teams that have been able to do so on a continuous basis have performed admirably in multi-nation events. So, Ishan has a strong probability of making an appearance in the grand scheme of things “The Hindustan Times reported Karthik as saying.
While there is no doubt that RCB would want to have a player like Kishan, most other teams are anticipated to compete for the southpaw’s skills.
