“I am very happy that I scored a century outside India and that too in England. It is a big thing for a player”.

This is the secret to being successful in England

Ravindra Jadeja said, “In England you have to play close to your body, because if you try to play cover drives and square drivers, you have chances to get behind the wicket and in the slips and you can get out” Jadeja’s batting has improved a lot in the last few years.

off-stump balls

He said, “So my focus was to release the balls going outside the off-stump. I thought I would hit the ball which was close to me and was lucky that whatever ball I played was close to me. You have to know your off-stump and let go of the balls going outside the off-stump.”

Second century of career

He said, ‘I was thinking that if I get a good ball then I can not do anything, but at least I should not try to play bad shots and try to hit boundaries. If the ball comes within my range, I will hit it.

Matches will be played according to the team

The all-rounder said that he does not believe in ‘tag’. He said, ‘I would not like to give myself any ‘tag’. Whatever is the requirement of the team, I will try to play accordingly. As an all-rounder, there also comes a situation when you have to add runs and save or win matches for the team. Whatever the team needs, I try to do it.
