Ravi Shastri will join the commentary box after 5 years
Ravi Shastri returns to the commentary panel after 5 years.
Ravi Shastri who is the former coach of India has finally returned to the commentary panel. He says that he couldn’t do commentary because of a BCCI clause.
Ravi Shastri says “This is the 15th edition of the IPL. I did the first 11 years and then, thanks to some stupid conflict of interest clause that exists in some stupid constitution that binds us, you could not do the last few seasons.”
A clause with BCCI forbade him from being a part of the commentary panel while he was the coach of the national team.
Ravi Shastri has a good record as a coach.
Under him, Team India won 25 off the 43 test matches they played, won 51 off the 76 ODI’s they played and with a win percentage of 69.20, won 45 off the 65 T20I’s they played.
But now, after he handed over the reign to Rahul Dravid, the 59 year old will be able to be a part of the commentary panel.

The commentator will have Suresh Raina alongside him in the com box.
Ravi Shastri once said this about the T20 star “You call him Mr. IPL, I can not disagree. He lit up the IPL, to play consecutive seasons for a team without missing a match is a real big compliment in itself. He is one of the highest scorers in the history of the competition.”
The cricket star went unsold in the IPL Mega Auction 2022. His base price of INR 2 crore did not attract any suitors.
His former team Chennai Super Kings take on Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match of the Tata IPL 2022.
