Ranji Trophy: Indian Stars Return – Following their break from the national team, contracted Indian stars have been encouraged to play domestic cricket by the BCCI’s newly elected officials, led by President Roger Binny. 

As a result, the Ranji Trophy features a large number of returnees, with Yuzvendra Chahal and Suryakumar Yadav joining up with their state sides most recently. Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan participated for their sides in the opening round.

The BCCI has requested that contractual Indian stars make themselves available for the domestic season as the Ranji Trophy returns to its original structure.

To ensure that athletes are always in top physical condition, the decision was made by incoming president Roger Binny. As a result, when the second-round matches begin on Tuesday, December 20, a variety of Indian talents will be in action.

Ishant Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane, two stars who are currently out of favour, were already available for their state teams, and Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson also joined their squads.

Suryakumar Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have now confirmed their availability for the second round. The renowned Indian team will compete in its first red-ball game following the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the Ranji Trophy, India’s white-ball heroes have switched back to red-ball cricket.

For Kerala & Jharkhand: Sanju Samson & Ishan Kishan played in the opening round bout.

Beginning with round 2, Suryakumar Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are available.

Ishant Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, and Ajinkya Rahane, three celebrities out of favour, are also participating.

The action was taken after the BCCI advised players to forgo rest and be available for domestic cricket. Under the new BCCI rule, only players who participate in all formats are allowed to take breaks.

Message from Mr.Binny:

Roger Binny made it clear that Indian cricket players should compete in home competitions when he was appointed president. Players are now required to represent their home countries if they are not taking part in an international series at that time. Only multi-format players are now permitted to take a break during international breaks.

Speaking on his future in Test cricket in an interview, SKY said:

“I feel I’m close. I have played this format. I have an idea of red-ball cricket because we all start from red-ball cricket. Yes, conditions are challenging but if you can apply your mind and alter your game, you can succeed.”
