Ramiz Raja said “Test cricket needs India vs Pakistan”
PCB chief Ramiz Raja urged India to try and keep the political differences aside and participate in the Asia Cup being held in Pakistan next year.
The tension in the political relations between India and Pakistan is always visible, the effect of which is now visible on cricket as well. due to the Asia Cup 2023 to be held in Pakistan next year, the war of words between the two countries is going on once again. However, the BCCI is not ready to send Team India to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, as the BCCI is concerned about the safety of the players. At the same time, PCB chairman Rameez Raja still wants India to come to Pakistan.
Jay Shah, secretary of the BCCI and president of the Asian Cricket Council, said that changing the venue of the Asia Cup is also an option. In response, PCB chairman Ramiz Raja threatened that if India did not host Pakistan for the Asia Cup, If he comes, he too will not go to India for the ODI World Cup next year. If this happens then it will be difficult for the ICC. To this, Rameez Raja said,
‘What if the government of Pakistan does not allow the Pakistan cricket team to go to India citing security reasons? This debate was started by the BCCI and we had to respond to it. Citing the example of the FIFA World Cup, Raja said that India should leave politics and come to India for the Asia Cup.
Pending decision on Asia Cup 2023 The BCCI had issued a statement regarding the Asia Cup only once. Since then, continuous statements are coming from the PCB. The Pakistan board is afraid that the Asia Cup may be shifted to some other place. However, this decision has to be taken in the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council. PCB’s attitude seems to be softening a bit now.
