Ralf Rangnick responds to Roy Keane’s comment on Ronaldo
Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has responded to the opinions of Sky Sports pundit Roy Keane who asked about the seriousness of Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury which kept him out of the 187th Manchester Derby which took place at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. The defending champions won with a pretty convincing scoreline of 4-1 as both Kevin de Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez scored a brace against their neighbours. Jadon Sancho was also on the scoresheet as he returned to his former club.
Roy Keane was full of questions after United’s defeat and said “We talk about Ronaldo being a machine and very rarely getting injured… it doesn’t add up to me.”
Cristiano’s manager responded to the claims that were saying he was dropped by the German and said
“I have to believe my medical department,” the United interim boss explained. “My doctor came to see me on Friday morning before training and told me Cristiano Ronaldo cannot train because of some problems with his hip flexor and the same was true on Saturday and that’s why he couldn’t be part of the squad.”
The defeat to rivals Manchester City has raised a lot of questions over the managerial selections by the club and how will the club regain its prime status and compete with the likes of Man City and Liverpool for the premier league title again. It will be interesting to see who will be the next man in charge at the theatre of dreams. The expected list of managers who can be selected include the likes of Ajax manager Erik Ten Hagg and Mauricio Pochettino.
