Rajasthan Royals purchased Shimron Hetmyer for INR 8.5 crores.

Royal Challengers Bangalore selected Hetmyer for his IPL debut season in 2019. He scored 90 runs in five matches during the season. He was later released from the team by the franchise.

Delhi Capitals selected the left-handed batter for the IPL 2020 season. Hetmyer hammered 185 runs in 12 games this season. Later, he was re-hired by the franchise for the IPL 2021 season. He appeared in 14 games for the team, scoring 242 runs. Shimron Hetmyer was discharged from the Delhi Capitals roster ahead of the IPL 2022 auction.

Rajasthan Royals paid Rs. 8.5 crores for Shimron Hetmyer during the IPL 2022 auction. The Delhi Capitals attempted to re-sign their player, but the Rajasthan Royals were able to keep him in their squad. Hetmyer had already set a basic price of Rs. 1.5 crore for himself. In the previous season, he was a member of the Delhi Capitals.

In the Indian Premier League, Shimron Hetmyer is a capable middle-order batsman. So far in the tournament, the West Indies batsman has played 31 games and scored 517 runs. In the previous three seasons, he was a member of the IPL.
