Punjab Kings announce Dhawan’s arrival with a Punjabi message

On February 12, the first day of the bidding for the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 2022, players were hard hit by money. While doing the first bonnie of the day, Punjab Kings included Dhawan in their team. After that, Dhawan said that Pyaar Naal will win the trophy.

The base price of Dhawan was Rs 2 crore. The Delhi Capitals was the first to make an offer for Shikhar Dhawan, followed by the Rajasthan Royals. Shikhar Dhawan had a lengthy race between Delhi and Rajasthan. Shikhar Dhawan was eventually purchased by Punjab Kings at Rs 8.25 crore.

Shikhar Dhawan delivered a statement in Punjabi after joining the Punjab team. The Punjab franchise posted Dhawan’s video message and welcomed Gabru Gabbar, aka Dhawan, to the squad. Dhawan stated in the video, “I am extremely delighted that I joined the Punjab Kings squad.” I am now eagerly anticipating the following season. You will all do admirably. With all your blessings and affection, you will surely win the trophy.

In the last season, Dhawan played for Delhi Capitals.  Apart from Delhi, he has also played for the Deccan Chargers, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. For the first time, he will be seen playing for Punjab. Shikhar Dhawan has appeared in 192 IPL matches, scoring 5784 runs at an average of 34.63. Dhawan is also the only player in the competition to have hit 654 fours.
