Pakistan Announces Test Squad against Australia.
Pakistan named a 16-man team on Wednesday for the forthcoming three-Test series against Australia, which begins on March 4 at home. In March and April, Australia will visit Pakistan for the first time in 24 years for three Tests, as many ODIs, and a T20I.
The captain of the 16-man squad has been appointed as Babar Azam. Meanwhile, Saqlain Mushtaq will remain their head coach, and they have hired former Australia pacer, Shaun Tait, as their bowling coach on a one-year deal.
Mohammad Yousuf, a legendary hitter, has joined the squad as batting coach for the Australia series.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced that Saqlain Mushtaq will remain as head coach for another 12 months,” stated the PCB in a statement. “The PCB has also announced the appointments of Shaun Tait as fast bowling coach for the Australia series for a 12-month period and Mohammad Yousuf as batting coach for the series.
Three changes have been made to the national team following the series against Bangladesh.
Haris Rauf, who played in South Africa and Zimbabwe Tests in 2021, has returned to replace off-spinner Bilal Asif, while Shan Masood has taken over from Abid Ali, who is finishing his recovery after being diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome. Yasir Shah has been added to the roster.
Test players who are not playing in the Pakistan Super League 2022 will meet in Karachi on Wednesday, February 16, for a training camp at the National Stadium.
