She has already announced that she will retire from tennis after this season. In the mixed doubles quarterfinal match, she defeated the pair of Gabriela Dabrowski and John Peers 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
The sixth seeded pair of Sania and Pavic defeated fourth seed Gabriela Dabrowski-John Peers to reach the semi-finals in a match that lasted one hour and 41 minutes.
Now Sania would like to make her last Wimbledon memorable by winning the remaining two matches. She reached the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Open in the mixed doubles category for the first time.
The pair of Sania Mirza and Mate Pavic is going on in great rhythm. Both of them played well from the start against a better seeded pair than themselves. The pair of Sania-Pavic won the first set with a margin of 6-4. However, they lost the second set 3-6. The third and deciding set was very exciting. In the end, the pair of Sania-Pavic won by a margin of 7-5 and also won the match.
In the semi-finals, the pair of Sania and Pavic will face the winner of the second quarter-final match. The match is between the second seeded pair of Neil Skupsi and seventh seed Jelena Ostapenko-Robert Farah. Sania had also competed in the women’s doubles category, but she and her Czech partner Lucie Hradecka were knocked out in the first match itself.
