Nicholas Pooran update on Jason Holder’s health

Jason Holder appears to be healthy, according to West Indies T20I vice-captain Nicholas Pooran, and should be available for the second T20I against India. Ravi Bishnoi’s two-wicket haul was backed up by superb performances from Rohit Sharma (40) and Suryakumar Yadav (34*) as India defeated West Indies by six wickets in the opening T20I here on Wednesday.

“The match clearly slipped; to be honest, we fell 10-15 runs short; 170-175 would have been ideal on that type of track. We couldn’t really criticise the bowlers, but as hitters, we needed to pace our innings a little better “Pooran stated during a virtual news conference.

“It was a little tough today since the ball was halting a little and it was two-paced. I think India bowled well; there was a lot of dew here, and the toss was also a huge impact. Conditions and humidity had a significant role in the outcome “He continued.

Jason Holder was hit on the chest during a practise session on Tuesday and missed the opening T20I. “Jason Holder looks to be in good condition and should be able to play in the next game.”I don’t know the specifics of his ailment, therefore I can’t comment “Pooran stated.

Earlier, Nicholas Pooran shone with the bat, scoring 61 runs to assist West Indies reach 157/7. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel both grabbed two wickets.

“The wicket performed better in the second half, in my opinion. The ball was also starting to come on a little better “Pooran said.

With this victory, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, and the second T20I will now be played at the same venue on Friday.
