Mohammed Shami will not be part of Indian team for T20 World Cup: Sources
Mohammed Shami : Shami’s selection was in question in the T20 World Cup last year. Shami recently did well for Gujarat Titans in the IPL. Shami was among the top 10 wicket takers in IPL. Shami has played 17 T20 matches for India so far and has taken 18 wickets.
The 2021 T20 World Cup was very disappointing for Team India and this time the team is leaving no stone unturned to prepare for the World Cup. India recently won the T20 series against Ireland 2-0. Now from July 7, Team India will face England. During this, the selectors are closely watching the performance of the players in the T20 matches being played.
Players are also trying to make their place in the T20 World Cup team by performing better. Now the news is coming that the senior bowler of the team, Mohammed Shami will not be a part of the Indian team for the World Cup.
ANI quoted a source as saying that Shami will not be selected for the World Cup. The source told ANI, ‘The selectors are not looking at Shami for the T20 World Cup as he is not fit for this format.
The selectors want to invest in the youth and give them as many opportunities as possible ahead of the World Cup in Australia. They may pick Bhuvneshwar as the senior bowler but maybe Shami may miss the flight to Australia for the T20 World Cup.
