Marcus Stoinis always made Ponting wait – Mohammad Kaif

Mohammad Kaif revealed that Marcus Stoinis would get late and make the team bus wait.

IPL 2022: Marcus Stoinis used to reach just on time of departure. He would make his Delhi team bus and coach Ricky Ponting wait for him to arrive.

Who is Marcus Stoinis?

Marcus Stoinis is an Australian all rounder, mainly known for his power hitting.

The muscular man is deemed as a great finisher all around the world.

In IPL 2021, he used to play for Delhi Capitals under the coaching of Ricky Ponting.

Stoinis brought balance to Delhi Capitals’ team with his all-round abilities, he scored 352 runs striking 148.52 and picked 13 wickets in IPL 2020.

But,he did not perform up to his levels as he managed only 89 runs in 10 innings for Delhi. On the back of this, DC decided to release Stoinis before the Tata IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

Mohammad Kaif revealed that “Last to the team bus was Marcus Stoinis. With a coffee mug in his hand, he used to come running and used to be dot on time. He always used to make Ricky Ponting wait and used to be just on time”

Marcus Stoinis was drafted in by new franchise Lucknow Super Giants for a massive amount of INR 9.20 crore.

But, due to the ongoing series between Australia and Pakistan, Stoinis has not been available for selection.

However, depending on the date of his arrival in India, Stoinis can represent LSG after 10th April. Upon arrival, the Aussie will have to go into a mandatory 3 day quarantine, before he can join the team camp.

As for LSG, they have had a good start to their campaign. Following a loss in the first match to GT, LSG managed to win back to back games against CSK and SRH.

Against CSK, LSG chased 211 thanks to some wonderful batting by the top order. Against SRH, they were able to defend 169 as they restricted SRH to 157 runs in their 20 overs.

They would like to win against Delhi Capitals and for now, cement their place in the top 2.
