Kyle Jamieson pulled out of IPL 2022 mega auction.
New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson has opted out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction. Kyle Jamieson has chosen to skip the IPL this season as he wants to improve his game for New Zealand so that he competes in all formats.
In last year’s IPL auction Kyle Jamieson was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 15 crore. Made him the second most expensive buy in the auction.
Kyle Jamieson made his international debut against India in February 2022. Till now All-rounder has played in 12 Tests, 5 ODIs, and 8 T20s. Jamieson took only nine wickets for RCB with an economy of 9.60.
First of all, during the last 12 months, there has been a lot of time spent with m isolation and quarantine as well as bubbles and different kinds of quarantine sets.
“The second thing for me was reflecting on the last 12-24 months and realizing that I am still very young in my [international] career and only two years in and I wanted to take time to work on my game” he said.
“To compete for a spot in the New Zealand side going forward across all three formats, I need to spend more time working on my game rather than just playing all the time” he added.
He said it was a difficult decision to miss the IPL league but hopes to be a part of it in the future.
