KKR opener to miss remainder of the IPL season

IPL 2022: Ajinkya Rahane picked up an injury in the previous match vs SRH for KKR.

IPL 2022: KKR will be without the services of Ajinkya Rahane, as he will be on the sidelines, due to a hamstring injury he picked up vs SRH.

The Kolkata based franchise, took to twitter to share the news. The official statement read: “Ajinkya Rahane is going to miss the remaining games of #IPL2022 due to a hamstring injury. Wish you a speedy recovery, The Knights camp will miss you.”

Ajinkya Rahane has had an average IPL to say the least. This is not unlike the season that his team has experienced.

Rahane has managed to score just 133 runs in 7 innings at a strike rate of 103.91. His top score is of 44 runs, while he averages just 19 runs!

One of the reasons KKR has struggled in this season, is the failure of the top order.

They have not gotten off to a good start very often this season, losing plenty of wickets in the powerplay itself. A recurring phenomenon for KKR, this season.

KKR are placed at the 6th position in the IPL standings, with 12 points from 13 matches. The only way they can qualify for the playoffs is by winning their game in hand and hope the other results go their way.

Currently, there are 2 teams placed at 14 points(RCB and DC) whereas KKR and PBKS are placed at 12 points. SRH are on 10 points, but have 2 games in hand to go.
