Kane Williamson, the captain of the SRH, received a note from Warner
After his journey with SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to an end, Australia opener David Warner delivered an emotional message to his good buddy and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson on Wednesday. SRH captain Warner will play for his former franchise, Delhi Capitals, in this year’s T20 tournament that presents 10 teams.
David Warner took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the opportunity to play with his “Brother” Kane Williamson, as well as the early morning breakfasts shared by his family during their journeys to India for the IPL.
“I’m going to miss having breakfast with the Williamson, and I’m going to miss playing cricket with you brother!! #friends, #bromance, #cricket “Warner wrote to share images from their breakfast session and SRH stint.
David Warner fell out of favour at SRH during the IPL 2021 season, first being dropped from the XI and then being fired as captain. Warner was not even on the SRH bench at the end of the tournament, raising questions about his fragile relationship with the team’s management and owners.
SRH didn’t retain the 2016 IPL-winning captain prior to the mega auction. However, SRH retained Kane Williamson and uncapped players Umran Malik and Abdul Samad.
Warner did not get an offer from SRH at the IPL 2022 mega auction, as predicted. However, the Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals also made bids for Australia’s T20 World Cup-winning opener. DC eventually purchased the left-hander for Rs 6.2 crore.
Warner’s 7-year fruitful relationship with SRH came to an end with the auction. Warner had been a regular run-getter for the Orange Army prior to leading the team to victory in 2016.
