Jofra Archer Returns :Archer is one of the 14 players selected by the England Cricket Board for the ODI series against South Africa in January 2023.
Due to an injury, Archer has not been in play since March 2021. Archer had played an important role in helping England win the ODI World Cup in 2019.He took the maximum 20 wickets for England in the tournament
Injury Update:
Archer is set to get back to action after 21 months long break due to his injury. His career has recently been hampered by a chronic elbow problem that has necessitated two surgeries, as well as a stress fracture in his lower back that prevented him from playing the full 2022 home summer.
The right-armer is reportedly making a good recovery from an elbow injury and could play in South Africa the following month.
Six days will be dedicated to the three-match series, which will include games in Bloemfontein and Kimberley. The first game begins on January 27, the second on January 29, and the final game is on February 1 in Kimberley.
All three games are in Bloemfontein.
Jofra Archer and IPL:
Archer has so far taken 46 wickets in 35 matches that he had played in Indian Premier League.
It is also to be noted that he had taken 15 wickets in the 2018 Indian Premier League while he was playing for the Rajasthan Royals for the first time.
On Day 2 of the IPL 2022 mega auction, Mumbai paid a whopping 8 crore to purchase him.
It is definitely a big news for the Mumbai Indian’s Team management as the recovery update of Archer was released well in advance to the auction.
