James Faulkner pulled out of the Pakistan Super League
Australia player James Faulkner, who plays for the Quetta Gladiators, announced his withdrawal from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Saturday, blaming the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for not “honouring a contractual commitment.”
Faulkner appeared in six PSL 2022 matches for the Quetta Gladiators, hitting 49 runs and capturing six wickets in those games. Faulkner announced his decision on Twitter and apologized to Pakistani cricket fans for his unexpected resignation from the upcoming PSL 7.
“I apologise to the Pakistan cricket fans,” Faulkner stated in his apology. However, owing to the [PCB] failing to honour my contractual agreements/payments, I was forced to withdraw from the remaining two matches (February 18 and February 20) and quit the [PSL].
“I’ve been here the entire time, and they have continued to lie to me.” “I’m in pain because I wanted to help bring international cricket back to Pakistan, as there is so much potential and the fans are wonderful.” It has been a disgrace to be treated in this manner by [PCB] and [PSL]. I’m sure you all understand what I mean.”
Quetta Gladiators’ PCB and PCB will soon provide a thorough response to Mr. James Faulkner’s unfounded and misleading charges, the PCB added.
On February 20, Quetta Gladiators will meet Karachi Kings in their last PSL7 group encounter, however win will not secure playoff qualification. They also need Islamabad United to lose their final two games.
