Ishant Sharma Might Be Dropped After India vs South Africa Test Series: Reports

Coming India’s tour of South Africa, in all probability, might be Ishant Sharma’s last series for the team. With India’s pace unit bragging of many young pacers, along with experienced star players, the national selectors have determined to look past the Delhi pacer with 100-plus Tests embedded on his crown.

Ishant, alongside the two additional 33-year-olds in the squad, Ajnikya Rahane, and Cheteshwar Pujara, will be in the eyes of selectors throughout the series that begins with the Boxing Day, 26 December Test at Centurion. Holding the in 105 Tests so far in his hands, the right-arm fast bowler has definitely accomplished a respectable position in the longest format of cricket.

Regardless, the BCCI selectors are determined to peek past him with a handful of young and skillful pacers battling for a place in the playing XI. The peak of Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj appears to have recreated a central part in this decision. Therefore for Ajnikya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara, this will be the last chance for them to make some runs and cement their spot/

The rising of young talent Mohammed Siraj has also put Ishant under a huge amount of stress. Ishant’s form in home matches is not up to the spot but he resumes to direct the speed spell in foreign situations with a huge impact. If he can retain his fitness and enhance his performance at home, the 33-year-old might get another chance.

Ishant’s record has also dropped recently and the exact could have encouraged this said ring from the selectors. Over the past 12 months, Ishant has played in eight Tests, seizing 14 wickets at 32.71. Hence, it would be fascinating to witness how the South African tour plans out for him.
