England’s Record-Breaking Test Win: The Multan Miracle Against Pakistan
IPL mega auction: Hooda-Krunal to Ashwin-Butler ‘friends become rivals’.
Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions have reunited players who were previously in disputes, including Deepak Hooda-Krunal Pandya and Ravichandran Ashwin-Jos Buttler.
Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 5 crore for Indian off-spinner Ashwin on the first day of the IPL 2022 auction, and he will now play alongside England’s Buttler. Rajasthan has retained Butler, as well as Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
After the run-out incident in the 2019 IPL, Ashwin and Butler had grown apart. The incident occurred during Rajasthan Royals’ match against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in Jaipur on March 25, when Ashwin ran Buttler out at the non-end striker’s because he was too far from the crease before he could bowl.
Hooda, on the other hand, left the ‘bio-bubble’ last year after a fight with Baroda state team captain Krunal Pandya. Hooda levelled several allegations against Krunal in an email to the Sangh. Hooda claimed Krunal tried to drag him and threatened him that he would never play for Baroda again.
After claiming that Krunal had misbehaved, Hooda left the vice-captain’s hotel a day before the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Following this, the association’s CEO, Shishir Hatangadi, questioned the middle-order batsman’s attitude and commitment to the team. Hooda was acquired for Rs 5.75 crores by the new IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants, while Krunal was acquired for Rs 8.25 crores. Hooda, who left the Indian team last year, was given the opportunity to make his India ODI debut in the home series against the West Indies. He was also named to India’s T20 squad in 2017, but he did not play. . In the second One-Day International against West Indies, he was the crucial wicket-taker of Shamrah Brooks (44) and contributed 29 runs in 25 balls when the team was trailing by three wickets for 43 runs at one point.
