IPL 2022: Record broken by MS Dhoni on his captaincy return
IPL 2022: Midway through the season, Ravindra Jadeja has handed over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings to MS Dhoni. Dhoni led CSK to a crucial win over SRH, yesterday.
Before the commencement of the season, CSK shocked the cricketing fans, by announcing the appointment of Ravindra Jadeja as their new captain.

Unfortunately, things did not turn out as planned by the CSK board.
It took Chennai 4 losses and 5 matches to get their first win on the board. The defending champions beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs to get their first 2 points of the season.
As of now, Chennai are on the verge of being knocked out of the tournament, having won only 3 off their 9 matches. The latest of them coming against Sunrisers Hyderabad, yesterday night.

In the match against SRH, MS Dhoni became the older ever player to captain a team. He beat Rahul Dravid’s record of the oldest captain of a side by 30 days.
Rahul Dravid was 40yrs 268 days old when he led Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians in 2013.
The third on the list in Sunil Joshi, who led Karnataka against Hyderabad in 2010 at the age of 40 years and 135 days.
