Indian National Football team to face Kuwait in the Finals
Indian National Football team has stormed into the final of the SAFF Championship with a breathtaking victory against Lebanon in the semifinals beating them 2-4 in the penalty shootouts, leaving fans exhilarated and eager for the title clash. After a series of impressive displays throughout the tournament, the Indian team has showcased their talent, determination, and hunger for success. With their eyes set on lifting the trophy, India is gearing up for a thrilling final showdown against Kuwait on 4th July 2023
The Indian team need to focus on their forward play as for the goal scoring India is too much dependent on their 38 year old captain Sunil Chhetri. So far in the tournament Indian team managed to score 7 times out which Sunil Chhetri scored 5 of them. Apart from him Udanta Singh and Naorem Mahesh are the two other players who’ve got their name on the score sheet but India know they’ll need more goal-scoring avenues if they wish to extend their unbeaten run at home and lift the regional title for the 9th time.
The defensive display of the Indian team has been phenomenal throughout the tournament as they have conceded only once in the tournament. That one occasion was also an unforced error by Anwar Ali (the Indian defender) who scored an own goal against Kuwait in the last few minutes of the game which resulted in the 1-1 draw. Keeping this aside the team kept 3 clean sheets which resulted in victories against Pakistan Lebanon and Nepal. This type of defensive game is also expected in the finals in order to defend the SAFF championship title.
