Bangladesh defeated India by a solitary goal in the championship’s final match. India, on the other hand, took the lead early on, as Shubhangi found some space in the opposition box and fired a shot that was saved by Bangladesh goalkeeper Rupna.
India were unlucky to be denied by the post in the 40th minute when Nitu, all alone, placed it past Rupna only to see the ball bounce off the post and straight into Rupna’s hands – as both teams went into the halftime break goalless.
In the 46th minute, Head Coach Thomas Dennerby introduced Poonam in place of Shubhangi.
Shilky Devi, the captain, attempted a long-range shot in the 60th minute, but an agile Rupna was unbeatable. Martina and Sunita were replaced by Naketa and Amisha, respectively, after a couple of substitutions.
With time running out for Bangladesh, they went all out in the attack, and Priyanka put them into the lead in the 74th minute with a shot from outside the box.
