Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has taken his first five wicket haul on home soil in the 2nd Test match against the Sri Lankan team. The M. Chinnasawamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed their Indian bowler take his first fiver on Day 2 of the Day-night test match and helped the Indian team establish a comfortable position in the match. The bowler now has a total of 300 international wickets which includes a five wicket haul in England, South Africa, West Indies, Australia and now finally in India.
This was Bumrah’s fifth Five-for in the Test cricket format. He dismissed Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickvella to achieve this special feat today and will be relieved to have ticked this box off his list. He has been praised by many of the former cricketers and pundits for his exquisite bowling skills which will surely help him in creating some high levels of bowling standards for himself and for everyone else.
His impressive figures of five for 24 was the main reason that the Indian bowling contingent were able to steam roll the Sri Lankan batters who only managed to conjure up 109 runs.
India already have a 1-0 lead in the Test match series after their dominating win in Mohali by an innings and 222 runs. It can be expected to be a little intense affair this time round as the Sri Lankan bowlers were able to limit India’s total to 252 this time.
