KL Rahul’s Versatility and Young Talent Highlighted by India Coach
In Bengaluru, BCCI officers lay the foundation for a new NCA.
Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), lay the foundation stone for the BCCI’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) headquarters in Bengaluru on Monday.
The BCCI holds a 99-year lease on the site. “The new National Cricket Academy starts today…laid the foundation stone of the new venue today in Bengaluru,” Ganguly tweeted, along with photos from the occasion.
Shah stated on his Twitter account, “Laid the foundation for @BCCI’s new NCA. Our shared goal is to establish a Centre of Excellence that develops talent and helps the Indian cricket ecosystem.”
The foundation stone was placed by BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla, treasurer Arun Dhumal, joint secretary Jayesh George, and NCA head VVS Laxman.
Since its inception in 2000, the current NCA has operated from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the centre of the city. This stadium is owned by the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), which has rented out its Ground B to the BCCI for outdoor practice, as well as an indoor practice facility, and a separate gym. The new facility, which is scheduled to open in a year, will have three fields for domestic matches.
