ICC ODI Rankings: Pakistan’s cricket team has overtaken India to the fourth place in the latest ICC ODI rankings.
ICC ODI Rankings:Team India, playing five T20 series against South Africa, has suffered a double blow. On one hand, he had to lose two consecutive T20Is to the visiting team. On the other hand, the neighboring country Pakistan has pushed India down in the latest ICC ODI rankings. Pakistan recently cleaned up West Indies in the 3 ODI series in Multan. The Pakistan team led by Babar Azam got the benefit of this victory and now it has come to the fourth position in the ODI rankings. New Zealand are still in the first place.
Before the start of the ODI series against West Indies, Pakistan were ranked fifth in the rankings with 102 rating points. However, with a 3-0 win over the Caribbean team, it has gone up to 106 rating points and has moved to fourth place, leaving behind India on 105 points. This is Pakistan’s second consecutive ODI series win at home. Earlier, Pakistan had defeated Australia 2-1 in the 3 ODI series in March this year.
Pakistan won 4 of the last 5 ODI series Pakistan’s team has been performing well in ODIs for the last few years. Except last year’s tour of England, where he had to face a clean sweep in the three-match ODI series. Apart from this, Pakistan won the ODI series 2-1 in 2021 at South Africa’s home and defeated Zimbabwe by the same margin in the ODI series.
India played the last ODI series against West Indies in February this year. In this, India had cleaned the West Indies just like Pakistan. Since then Team India has not played ODI. Because of this, he has suffered a loss in the rankings. The Indian cricket team will have a chance to improve in the ODI rankings next month. Team India has to play 3 ODIs on England tour in July. After this, India has to play the same number of ODIs against West Indies. Pakistan will play its next ODI series in August.
