ICC Announced Player Of The Month
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has proclaimed the prizewinners of the Player of the Month award for November 2021 for both the men’s and women’s cricketers.
Australia’s sensational opener David Warner and West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews were on Monday announced as the men’s and women’s ICC Players of the Month November after their glorious performances.
Warner’s crucial efforts in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup which Australia won for the first time helped him pip Pakistan opener Abid Ali and New Zealand seam bowler Tim Southee to grab the men’s award.
Warner won the award on his chaste nomination following his Player of the Tournament performance at the recent T20 World Cup, in which he knocked 53 runs in the final against New Zealand after striking 49 runs in the semifinal against Pakistan.
Matthews wins Women’s Player of the Month Award
For the women’s award, West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews arose triumphant over Pakistan’s Anam Amin and Bangladesh’s Nahida Akter. In four ODIs in November three in the series against Pakistan and one in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier against Ireland Matthews knocked a stunning 141 runs inning and took nine wickets, including a dazzling 4/26 against Pakistan in Karachi.
Matthews’ all-around performance in the ODIs prevailed her the women’s award forward of left-arm spinners Anam Amin and Nahida Akter.
This is the second time Matthews has been selected for the Player of the Month award she was last in the clash for the award in July when the West Indies skipper Stafanie Taylor triumphed the prize.
