I would like to appoint Rohit or Ashwin as the new test captain: Dilip Vengsarkar

Meanwhile, Dilip Vengsarkar suggested that either Rohit Sharma or Ravichandran Ashwin should be Team India’s interim Test captain, as the side grooms the future captain. The former Indian cricketer further stated that KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are not yet ready for the captaincy role and would need another year before being appointed to the Test team. “I would appoint Rohit or Ashwin as interim captains and groom the future captain. At this time, you need someone with captaincy experience and a guaranteed place in the Test team. “Rohit and Ashwin have both established themselves in Test cricket,” Vengsarkar told TOI
