“I see him coming back and doing well “: Sourav Ganguly on Kohli
Ganguly has defended Virat Kohli and said that he will return to form soon. Ganguly said that Kohli has scored a lot of runs in international cricket. It is not possible without quality.
The last few years have not been good for India’s star batsman and former captain Virat Kohli. He has been struggling to score runs. In the last two and a half years, he has not been able to score a single century in international cricket. In every match, he has been seen getting out in a new way.
In such a situation, the fans are eagerly waiting for his century. Sourav Ganguly, the current President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has expressed hope that soon Virat will show amazing with the bat.
While talking to the media in London, Ganguly said,
” Virat Kohli has scored a lot of runs in international cricket. It cannot happen without capability and quality. Yes, the last few years have been tough for him and he himself knows this. Virat has been a great player for India.”
He added ,” Virat himself knows that he has not been able to score runs for some time, which is not his standard. I see him coming back and he will definitely score a lot of runs again. To get back in form again, Virat will have to find a way that can make him successful, as he has been doing for the last 12-13 years. Only Virat Kohli can do that.”
He further said that these things will happen in the game. This has happened to many great cricketers in the past as well. Be it Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid or me, everyone has gone through such a phase.
This will definitely happen with many more players in the future. This is a part of the game. As a player, don’t think about all this and keep playing your game.
Ganguly has also been honored by the British Parliament in London. Regarding this, he said ,
“I was honored by the British Parliament as a Bengali. So it’s a good feeling. This program was in Parliament. He contacted me six months back. They give this award every year and this time I got it.”
