Delhi Capitals are all geared up for the mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), 23 November 2024: The stage is set for the IPL 2025 player auction, and the JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals are geared up to assemble a strong squad at the mega event, scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Hemang Badani, the newly appointed Head Coach of the Delhi Capitals, shared insights into his coaching style and revealed his ultimate goal for the team on the eve of the mega auction.
“I’ve earned my stripes to be here and I really feel that there will be good decisions made and good things that could happen for DC in the years to come,” Badani expressed.
“You will see a lot more strategising, you will see a very silent coach, who works in the background. I prefer to let my work do the talking. I’ve been blessed with some success in the T20 cricket purely because I genuinely believe that I have the passion towards coaching, and I think I can make an impact,” he added.
Speaking about his goal, for India player said, “My end goal has always been to win.”
“This primarily comes from my playing days where I didn’t leave back a legacy. I want to leave a legacy as a coach. I will do my best to win the title for DC,” he concluded.
Delhi Capitals have retained four players—Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abishek Porel—ahead of the auction. They go into the mega auction with a remaining purse of ₹73 crore and two Right-To-Match cards at their disposal.
