As Virat Kohli approaches his 100th Test match, India’s head coach, Rahul Dravid, delivered a beautiful tribute to him. In the first of two Tests between India and Sri Lanka beginning on Friday at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali, Kohli will reach the milestone.
Virat Kohli should be really pleased of his achievement. He’s been put under a lot of strain and has a lot riding on his performance. He’s never let someone down.
It’s good for Indian cricket to have someone who has played 100 Test matches back in the fold. Highly earned! Someone who has had to work hard for their success; it did not come easily for them. The time and effort he has put in has been appreciated,” he said.
Tendulkar has already shared a video message with Kohli. When we were in Australia in 2007, I first heard about you. The U-19 World Cup was held in Malaysia, and you were there. In the video, Sachin says in his message to Virat Kohli, “You are something to keep an eye on,” I heard some members of your team saying, “achhi batting karta hai.”
Kohli is the sixth Indian to achieve this feat.
