Glenn Maxwell: The RCB bowlers are starting to gel well
IPL 2022: Glenn Maxwell and co restricted CSK to just 170 runs, thereby winning the match by 13 runs. This win took them into the top 4 in the table.
Glenn Maxwell couldn’t make an impact with the bat, having been run out cheaply. But, the Aussie did make a statement with the ball.
He picked up 2 crucial wickets of Rayudu and Uthappa, whilst giving away just 22 runs. He and Shahbaz Ahmed bowled well in tandem, not allowing the CSK batsman to go big.
As a result, towards the end, Harshal Patel grabbed 3 wickets and won the player of the match award for his performance.

Match Summary
RCB had been asked to bat first by MS Dhoni, which worked in the favor of the men in red. RCB posted 173 on the board, a competitive score. Mahipal Lomror starred with the bat for RCB, as he scored 42 off just 27 balls.
During the chase, CSK got off to a good start with Gaikwad and Conway. After the wicket of Gaikwad, other batsmen failed to build a partnership. Conway scored his 2nd consecutive half century but, fell soon after.
RCB kept taking wickets at regular intervals to stop the CSK batsmen from gaining momentum.
“Over the moon. Really good bowling effort. We felt there is enough tackiness in the wicket that we were able to exploit with the spinners and for the pacers to hold their nerve against some powerful death hitters to finish off the game was good. The way Moeen and Jadeja bowled, it showed the finger spinners were getting a bit of hold and grip,” Maxwell told the official broadcasters after the game.
“Hopefully, we can ride this momentum and winning momentum is hard to stop. Our bowling group are starting to gel and I feel we are going in the right direction. Hopefully, we haven’t left it too late and we can peak right towards the finals and find a way into the top four and do some damage in the finals,” he added.
RCB now take on fellow qualification contenders, Sunrisers Hyderabad on 8th May at the Wankhede Stadium.
