The ban imposed by BCCI on Asad Rauf was in 2016. They imposed a 5 year ban on the umpire. This was imposed because Asad Rauf had been found guilty of corruption. There were claims that Asad had connections with bookies.
In 2013, during an IPL Match, Asad Rauf had been found guilty of Match Fixing after accepting huge amount of money from the bookie’s.
This was not the only time when Asad Rauf was under the radar.
In 2012, a Mumbai based model had made allegations that Asad Rauf had sexually harassed her.
She claimed that Rauf had relations with her and even promised to marry her but, he failed to keep his promises.
Although these allegations were not proven, the reputation of Asad Rauf took a severe hit.
