FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023: Australia, Belgium first to make semi-finals
Australia were the first team to seal a berth in the semi-finals of the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023 after beating Spain 4-3 in the quarter-finals on Tuesday.
Belgium, the reigning hockey world champions, also kept their title defence on track after downing their last-eight opponents New Zealand, who beat hosts India in a tense crossover to make the quarters.
It’s Netherlands vs South Korea and England vs Germany in the second set of semi-final spots. Those matches will be played on January 25.
After the group stages and crossover matches, Australia, Spain, England, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, Belgium and New Zealand emerged as the final eight at the 2023 Men’s Hockey World Cup.
