FC Bengaluru United focusing on developing grassroots
Bengaluru: Two-time BDFA champions, FC Bengaluru United, have tied up with Good Shepherd International School, Ooty, to conduct their United Pro High Performance Program in July 2022. The residential program is designed to provide developing budding footballers the opportunity to train at an advanced level, in line with that of an I-League 2nd Division team with certified AIFF/AFC Licensed coaches guiding them right through this journey.
Founded in 2018, FC Bengaluru United have clocked several milestones in their short journey – they won back-to-back BDFA Super Division tournaments in 2020-21 and 2021-22 and in 2021, were invited to participate in the prestigious Durand Cup, Asia’s oldest football tournament, in which they reached the semi-finals. They run the popular United Academy in Bangalore that conducts football training camps for various age groups across the city.

The United Pro High Performance Program is a high-intensity training 14-day program that bridges the gap between the United Pro School program, the United Academy and the FC Bengaluru United 1st team. The goal is to develop and curate the talent, who will stand a chance to be part of the Senior team and reserves set up.
“The training philosophy integrates key elements of Sports Science, including Strength & Conditioning, Sports Psychology, Sports Nutrition and more,” said John Kenneth Raj, Technical Director, United Academy. “India has tremendous footballing potential and a structured High Performance Program like ours is ideal to guide and steer this talent.”
