England has appointed Paul Collingwood as interim head coach.

On Monday, Former all-rounder Paul Collingwood has been appointed as England’s interim head coach for the West Indies Test series, which begins March 8 in Antigua. Collingwood replaces Chris Silverwood, who was dismissed last week after the 4-0 Ashes loss in Australia. England will visit West Indies for three test matches. The England team will tour West Indies from 08th March 2022 to 29th March 2022.

Collingwood, 45, is presently on vacation in Barbados after assuming command of England’s T20I tour of the West Indies last month. He will re-join the players in Antigua on February 25.

“I’m thrilled to be guiding the Test squad on their Caribbean trip,” he stated “In a statement released by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), he said.

“I’m excited to get started. Following the setback of the Ashes, we have a hard Test series against the West Indies, which allows us an opportunity to reset and rebuild. Test match appearances for England are the greatest honour in the sport. My goal is to provide gamers with clarity, direction, and encouragement to begin creating something unique.

On the other hand, Joe Root has maintained his position as England test team. Collingwood went on to say, ” “I spoke with Joe Root and Ben Stokes, and they are both ecstatic and motivated to lead the squad ahead in this new era. Even though they know it would be difficult, they have the will and courage to do things differently for the team to succeed. “We have a chance to get back on track,” he continued.

The England team will be confirmed later this week and will depart the UK on Thursday, February 24th, according to the ECB.
