ENG vs IND: India thrash England, win the series 2-0

Next up, India play England in the 3rd T20I at the Trent Bridge, tomorrow.

Last time around, England lost by 50 runs, this time, they lose by 49. They lost wickets in heaps as they faltered in their chase of 170.

As a result, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was handed the player of the match award for his magnificent spell with the ball.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers, as he went on to pick up 3 wickets for 15 in his 3 overs. This spell also includes a wicket-maiden over in the first over of the innings!

Bumrah, Chahal picked up 2 wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Harshal Patel chipped in with 1 each.

Just like the previous match, Bhuvi picked up a wicket in the first over itself. He then got rid of Buttler, before Bumrah came on and got rid of the dangerous looking Liam Livingstone.

That’s it, India take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3 match T20I series. A fitting win as India dominated from the get go. The only positives for England are the performances of debutant Richard Gleeson and Chris Jordan with the ball and the attacking innings by David Willey and Moeen Ali.

Jordan backed up his brilliant performance at the Ageas Bowl with a 4-fer today. The pacer picked up 4/27 in his 24 balls to restrict India as much as possible. But it was the man with the sword in hand as Jadeja’ 46* off 29 guided India to a very competitive score on a tricky wicket.

Chris Jordan and Gleeson were the chief destructors as the duo picked up 7/42 while the other English bowlers went for 138!

In his next over, Gleeson went on to take the wickets of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant in what turned out to be a double wicket maiden!

Richard Gleeson, on his debut, got rid of the Indian skipper, a huge name for a first wicket.

Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant, opening for the first time together ever, ended up getting 49 runs off the first 5 overs, before the Indian skipper was dismissed.

India put up a very good score on a wicket that is not very easy to bat on. The extra bounce has caused each and every batsman a lot of trouble.
