Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 series against the Sri Lanka team as the pacer has injured his hamstring during the last T20 match against the West Indies on Sunday.
The 29-year-old fast bowler had just found some good form over the recent matches and will have to sadly miss out on the upcoming fixtures in order to complete his recovery. A BCCI official also confirmed this news by saying “He has been ruled out of the series and will be completing his rehab at the NCA.”
He also added about whether any replacement has been added in place of Chahar or not to which he said “The team has sought no replacement as vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah is already in the side”
Chahar had bowled almost half of his tenure against the West Indies before being injured, and had taken two wickets for 15 runs in just 1.5 overs. This kind of performance demonstrated how much Deepak Chahar will be missed by the Indian cricket team.
The T20 International series against Sri Lanka will start on Thursday in Lucknow.
