DC fans organize IPL match watch party for underprivileged kids
New Delhi, 16 May 2022: The official fan community of the Delhi Capitals – DC Toli and volunteer organization Robin Hood Army (RHA) organized a special match viewing experience for underprivileged children at the USO House, Qutab Institutional Area in New Delhi on Sunday. Over 75 attendees enjoyed the highlights of two matches featuring Delhi Capitals against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals respectively.
The group of children was welcomed by DC Flags held by the members of DC Toli and Robin Hood Army at the venue, where the kids carried out a number of fun activities during a six-hour session. The children dabbled in painting, dance, photo sessions, games, and singalongs, which were all conducted by the DC Toli members. They also enjoyed a nutritious meal and were presented with Delhi Capitals merchandise.
The batch of kids, who were thrilled to watch a large screening for the first time, was inducted into the DC Toli community as well.
Speaking about the event, a Robin Hood Army India Representative Rachit Dhingra said,
“RHA goes green every day, but today DC Toli made the RHA bleed blue. From chanting slogans to fun activities and from watching match highlights to creating memories, we indeed roared together!”
The Delhi Capitals and the Robin Hood Army have shared a special partnership since 2019. They have worked on several projects which include the distribution of excess food from the DC Stadiums to across slums in Delhi, blanket distribution drives during winter, and watch party specials with RHA Robins among others.
When asked about the association, Robin Hood Army Social Media Representative Vasundhara said,
“Right from 2019, it has always been a great experience to partner with Delhi Capitals. They’ve been our constant supporters and truly believe in the cause. We have done a lot together in the past three years. In 2019, we served surplus food from the stadium, during lPL matches, to those who needed it the most. DC has also helped distribute blankets to those fighting the #DelhiKiSardi on the streets. This journey has been truly amazing. Robin Hood Army feels ecstatic to partner with Delhi Capital year on year and roar to win.”
