Cricket Can’t Made In The List

In the last meeting of the International Olympics Committee, a list of 28 sports events was issued. Among these games, Boxing, Weightlifting, and modern pentathlon didn’t secure their position. In addition to that highly anticipated sports of Cricket were also not mentioned anywhere.

It was expected that cricket will get a position among the sports event list for the upcoming edition of the Olympics. The International Cricket Council was quite optimistic about the inclusion of Cricket as a sports event in the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028. But the final list brought disappointment for the cricket lovers and also for the board, as it was not mentioned anywhere.

International Cricket Council is still holding the thin string of hope to get included in the Los Angeles Olympics as an additional sports event. There are several other sports on the list of the nomination for getting the position of an additional sports event in the Olympics. The list would be put to vote in the IOC Session in Beijing in February next year for approval, which is likely to be a formality. The final list will be declared by the International Olympics Committee in the year 2023.

The is not only critical for cricket but also to the sports event that didn’t secure their position in the Olympics games. The respective federations have been given time until 2023 to meet certain criteria to secure their spot at the 2028 Games.

The cricket-playing nations are looking forward to the inclusion of the game of cricket in the Olympics as it can provide them a great platform for competing against each other. The new teams can also get the first-hand experience of playing and learning from the experienced teams.
