Christian Erikson set to make his Brentford debut against Newcastle
Brentford Football club Manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that their new signing Christian Erikson will be making his long-awaited return to football when Brentford host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday. It is a fairy tale story for Christian Erikson who had a terrifying experience in last year’s Euro championships. The former Inter Milan player had a cardiac arrest while playing for his Danish national team and collapsed on the pitch. Everyone present in the stadium and around the world was full of worries for the player as no one knew what had happened to him.
Erikson was saved by the brilliant and very efficient medical staff present on the ground and were able to revive him back to consciousness. His current manager Frank said “It is going to be amazing – It’s a big day for all of us, especially for Chris and his family members”
Following his collapse, Christian Eriksen was fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), which unfortunately prevented him from playing in the Serie A in Italy due to their regulations. He has already featured for the Brentford B team and feels confident about finding his form again after a long break from football.
Brentford have a tough game ahead of them as they face Newcastle who are fighting for their survival and have been playing some good football lately. Thomas Frank told his views on the game and said “I expect a close, tight game. It will be the smallest of margins that could decide (it). They’re in a good place. I’m not stupid. I know that teams are winning, but I only look forward and look up the league.”
